Diane Altland in her capacity with GPI completed the design for the Conneaut Lake Joint Municipal Authority (CLJMA) replacement of a 12-inch sewage force main that services the East side of Conneaut Lake. The replacement of the existing line allowed for reduced pressures on the force mains to the plant and reduced the risk of failure. Additionally, upgrades were designed at the treatment plant including new automatic bar screening to replace outdated communitors and an influent pump station to transfer the screened flow to the grit classifier and clarifiers. The sludge reed beds are being replaced with a new belt filter press in a new building with a sludge filter pad. While the upgrades will not increase the capacity of the plant, these upgrades will increase the reliability of the system as well as the efficiency of the operations.
